"Friendswood, TX – February 11, 2013 – Neighborhood Scout, a national data research firm, has recently named Friendswood the 20th Safest City in America in 2013 based on their latest research.  The recognition, calculated on cities with at least 25,000 persons, is based on the total number of crimes per 1,000 residents.  According to Neighborhood Scout, Friendswood is the second safest city in the State of Texas, and one of only five in Texas rated in the nation’s top 100 safest.

The Friendswood Police Department recently released its 2012 Annual Crime Report, which lists Friendswood as having one of the lowest number of crime rates per 1,000 residents in the Houston Metro area, based on information reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
